Production Sequence
 
 
Weighing
High purity raw materials having superior physical properties (alumina, zirconia, etc.) are combined to form a batch chemistry which best utilizes each specific property.
Mixing
The batch is mixed well to attain uniform consistency.
Melting
The batch is fed into an electric arc furnace for melting by automatic control under the most appropriate conditions for each mix.
Casting
The fusion is cast into refractory molds specifically designed for each product.
Annealing
The casting is placed in an annealing bin for gradual cooling, allowing the crystals to develop to form the optimum structure for the block.
Surface Finishing
The block surfaces are machined with diamond tools to specified dimensions.
Inspection
Each individual block undergoes a rigorous inspection.
Internal Inspection
Additional inspection is made of the status and location of internal voids to be removed from the sidewall blocks, and the throat assembly for the DCL blocks of the Scimos AZS series.
Pre-Assembly
Blocks to be used in critical portions are pre-assembled and trued where necessary.
Packing
Blocks are firmly palletized for shipment.
